President’s Message

Greeting, and thanks for stopping by our site. 

The Dillard University Washington DC Metro Area Alumni Association, Inc (DC Metro). is an award winning 501c3 organization representing over 300 Dillard Alumni in the DMV area.  Our chapter has a rich history in the area and many successes as a member of the Dillard University National Alumni Association Inc. 

I am proud to serve as the President DC Metro.  I stand in the place of others who held the belief that a strong alumni chapter was an active and engaging organization. While the word ‘president’ is a title, I am proud to serve with a group of Dillard Alums committed to fulfilling the mission and purpose of this Association.

Our Mission:  To promote the welfare, growth, and development of Dillard University through local membership, recruitment, community outreach, and fundraising.

Our Vision: To be the preeminent alumni chapter in support of Dillard University

Our Vales:  Pride, Perseverance, Purpose

As Dillard alums-we come from various walks, cities, and towns.  Our common bond is Fair Dillard.  We were blessed with the resolve that when we left our Fair Dillard, our work was to build communities near and far.  Our Chapter’s mission, vision and values are our essence.  They strengthen us as we work collectively and individually in our communities and for our Fair Dillard.   

We encourage continued support of our efforts through:

• High school student recruitment efforts

• Local fundraising events, to increase available financial resources for students pursuing higher education at Dillard University

• Alumni giving back to Dillard University

• Increasing membership in the DC Metro Chapter and the Dillard University National Alumni Association (DUNAA). 

Education has long since been the key to our success as a people.  The nation’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) have been the place through which educational endeavors and connections have emerged.  Please feel free to take a tour of our site and join in support as a member, friend or donor.
